I teach at a school where over 80% of our students come from low-income families and receive free or reduced-price lunches. Approximately, 45% are African American, 45% are Hispanic, and 20% are English language learners. They come from very diverse households.
Our students want to learn and do well, even when the statistics are not in their favor.
We, as a school, want to provide an environment where our students want to come and learn with us.
My Project
It is proven that when students are able to move their bodies they can retain what they learn easier and retain the information that they learned in less time. Wobble stools are a favorite in my math room. I want to be able to provide all my students who need movement the opportunity to sit in a wobble stool where their movement will not be a distraction to others as compare to the regular four legged seats we currently have.
Help me give my students clean and fresh air to breath and the ability to move their bodies while they are learning in the classroom.
With a full classroom of 20-25 students, we need air purifiers and fresheners to make sure everyone is able to breath clean air and we can stay learning in-person together this year.
