My students impress me every day and every class motivates me to grow as an educator. They range from being shy or struggling collaborators to being boisterous and strong independent learners. At the same time, they are all growing as confident speakers and emerging writers with control and voice. As future leaders in our community and society along with being current leaders and contributors in the classroom, they make me proud because of their willingness to grow.
As English 9 and 10 students, they love to learn, especially with engaging activities that ask them to reason and work with their peers during opportunities that ask them to build a sense of community in an academic environment.
From class discussions to speeches to being part of a panel and being part of Socratic Seminars, they always show me they are passionate students who want to be part of what makes a positive society as we read and analyze literature while engaging in discussions on ethics and humanity.
My Project
Due to the pandemic and remote learning, our district provides each student a Chromebook they can bring home and use for all classes. Now that we are back in the classroom full time, it is wonderful that all students have a device.
Unfortunately, there are days when a student forgets their Chromebook at home or their device is not working.
This project continues the same mission and desire for all students to have the best classroom experience. By having a classroom Chromebook, students have the opportunity to continue their learning and can access the class materials when their personal device is unavailable. Students will be able to stay productive instead of having work piling up to be completed at home. Please support us with this ready solution for our classroom.
Thank you so much to my previous classroom heroes who have helped me get Chromebooks for my classroom in the past. It was heartbreaking to find out that they were sequestered by the district so all students in all grades could have a device, but it was for the greater good and now all students have access to a device they can bring home.
