I teach at a high poverty school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch! I have high expectations that they will grow and learn beyond what is expected.
School is a safe and happy place for my students.
Each day, they come into the classroom excited about the day and spending time exploring and learning together. For many of my students, being at school is the best part of their day.
My Project
A classroom transformation is where you add items to your room to turn it into a new learning space and experience. You then prepare content that matches that learning space. Thus, they are a GREAT way to engage students in their learning!
With the black lights, neon décor, tape, rocks and balls, we will be able to have an out of this world glow day for years to come.
Just pop in some fresh glow sticks each year and this transformation will be set for years and years to come with a low replenishment cost! This is definitely a high yield, low prep activity for all students as the year comes to an end. This will amp up engagement every single year for both ELA and Math concepts.
Just to name a couple of fun glow activities, we will be able to write stories, find nouns, adjectives and verbs on the glowing neon paper. We will be able to go glow bowling to show subtraction facts. Tic Tac Toe can be played with the backlight tape or maybe Tic Tac Vocabulary.
These learning games and room transformation materials will also give students the ability to be engaged in school and enjoy their learning at school.
