This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are attending our school in Mansfield. The focus of our school is to prepare the students for either going to college or into a career after high school.

My students are eager to learn the concepts being taught this year.

In middle school, we are increasing the topics being taught. Having some extra motivation hopefully helps to increase their retention of knowledge and helps them to exceed expectations this year.

My Project

Learning how to use a 3-D printer can mean that there are trial and errors that they will go through. My goal this school year is to teach my students how to take a photo from Thingaverse and transfer it to .gcode so that they can print it from our 3-D printer. They will need to learn the settings that all needs to be on to correctly print from the 3-D printer. This means that we will need extra filament for my students to practice with.

The PLA filament has been vital to operating a 3-D printer and giving my students an opportunity to practice operating the 3-D printer.

The more that I get my students interested in the field of STEM the more interest that they will have in learning what we are learning about. Key is practice and getting colors that interest my students so that they will want to practice more of what we are learning about!
