Hello! While this school year is unlike any other, I am the proud teacher of 18 wonderful International Baccalaureate students.
My students are bookworms!
They are continuously reading all of the latest books available that are on their level! We strive to have thirty minutes of individual reading time each day! It has been found that students grow as learners when reading 20 or more minutes a day with books that are just right for them!
My Project
Our school takes pride in reading the Sunshine State books. Each year, students are encouraged to read these books and earn rewards for reading them.
Students grow as readers by being challenged to read books that are on or above their reading level.
These preselected books by the state of Florida cover a wide range of topics. From learning about living with a disability to discovering about Amelia Earhart, students get to discover a new world and enhance their reading comprehension skills.
It is incredibly important for students to have the opportunity to read these different books so that they can develop a love for reading.
