My classroom is located in Chicago, IL, and is rich with culture! My international group of 2nd graders and their families hail from over 10 different countries around the globe. We are linguistically diverse with 5 different languages spoken at home.
I am so proud of the classroom family my students and I have built virtually.
We spend time each day supporting each other through the many feelings that have cropped up as a result of this pandemic. As true agents of resilience, my students show up each day with a passion to learn and be creative no matter what is going on in the world.
My Project
As of last week, I have 8 students who have returned for in-person learning. My school was able to provide earbuds for my students; however, my students are little and the earbuds aren't the most comfortable and are often falling out of their ears.
What my students really need is comfortable over-the-ear headphones with a good microphone.
These headphones will ensure that my in-person learners can interact effectively with their remote learning peers.
We are also running low on pencils and a few other supplies for the classroom. We have entered into the final stretch of the school year. Help us finish on a high note!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
