My Students
I teach at a small Title I school located in rural North Carolina. My school has a very large population of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students come from various socioeconomic backgrounds. Few of my students come from homes that provide multiple opportunities for early literacy and exploration. Some of our students have never had the opportunity to leave our small community and have not had access to literacy or digital resources or structured learning environments. This means our school needs to provide these students with many opportunities to develop a love of learning, critical thinking skills, and a variety of reading material to challenge and intrigue them.
Our students are eager learners who love to work together, use technology, and create new things.
My Project
Help give our students basic supplies to complete daily tasks. Construction paper is used to create class projects and displays of our classroom work. Currently our supply of construction paper is limited on the various colors. We are left with mostly brown and other pale colors. Students love to create projects to display their learning using a vibrant array of colors.

With these supplies we will be able to restock the supply for the remainder of the year and get ready for the new school year.
