Help me give my students something to snack on while they are learning from home. By having some snacks and breakfast items available at home, my students will be able to focus on their lessons and keep learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Teaching is something I love to do. I am a Special Education teacher for middle school students. I have the pleasure of working with many different students (many of whom were my students from previous years).
Many of my students come from a single-parent household where their parents must work long hours in order to make ends meet.
This year our learning situation is very different from other years. Currently, we are working remotely and making the best out of the situation we are in.
My students live in the South Side of Chicago in a predominantly Spanish-Speaking neighborhood that has been plagued with violence for many years. It is an area where their parents are able to afford an apartment, even if it means living in a neighborhood that is dangerous. My students have been exposed to different situations that have been traumatic, but they continue to strive for something better. What I love about my students is that even though they have been exposed to violence at such a young age, they still come to school with such a positive attitude and a desire to learn.
My Project
This school year has been challenging. The majority of my students have been learning from home and trying their hardest to stay on top of their education. Many of my students come from low income homes and have minimal resources. Food is scarce and many have little to eat while they are at home.
By providing some healthy snacks, my students will be able to focus on their studies.
They will be able to snack as they continue to learn and thrive while working remotely. Snacks is something my students don't have at home since their parents are focused on providing them with essentials. By being able to provide some snacks that my students can keep at home will help alleviate the lack of food in their homes.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
