I teach first grade in an amazing school filled with a high number of diverse learners. Students in my class come from unique cultural and language backgrounds and varying levels of physical, social/emotional, and academic needs. With the approaching return to in-person learning, I hope to equip myself with tools that will hopefully help me reach all students as I attempt SIMULTANEOUSLY teaching kids at home and in person.
My Project
This year was definitely the most challenging year ever. I tried my best in a virtual classroom to build relationships with my students as well as foster relationships between my students.
I want my students to have these books so they can look back on this year with happy thoughts!
The books in this project really helped us come together and talk about HUGS in a whole new way and why they're so important! Who doesn't love reading about ICKY bug hugs, a monster who decides to be a good friend, a bear who ONLY hugs, and wacky characters that learn a hug is the best solution to a lot of problems?!
