Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My language and learning disabled, special education students are working hard to develop and improve their communication skills to both understand and use language.
My students primarily hail from large families in low-income households, so school is often the environment that provides them with the necessary materials and attention to grow and flourish!
My Project
Help!!! My at-home laptop computer is over 10+ years old and is considered of geriatric age (complete with knitting needles and Wurther's orginial candies)...
To make matters worse, my desktop computer which I use in school is literally on its last leg.
I receive daily messages warning me to back up my materials because it is going to kick the bucket at any moment. It is so slow and laggy, I have been missing my virtual sessions with students at home learning because my computer's external webcam often fails, and it takes (no lie) over 30 minutes to restart my device.
My technology and I are failing my students miserably. Help me get access to faster, more up-to-date technology to better serve my special education students' educational needs. With new technology, I will be able to effectively deliver therapy to them without logging on and off, with video and audio quality lagging. We can use new technology to play games online and once they are back in school, hook the computer up to the smart board to keep the fun going!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
