Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are diverse in many aspects, and they enjoy learning in our International Baccalaureate school. They are special because they drive instruction with their thought-provoking questions. They are active leaders and members of our classroom communities.

One of my goals is for them to thrive as much as they can while in first grade so that their thirst for knowledge continues year after year.

This will foster a sense of global citizenship and internal motivation to learn that is simply unmatched!

Our students realize that they live in a diverse community where students go through many different life experiences. Learning about responsibilities and animal welfare, and having other difficult conversations helps our students realize the importance of education and better understand the world around them.

Overall, they are such awesome, globally responsive children and amazing learners within the great city of Chicago!

My Project

Our way of learning has changed more in one school year than in my entire educational career and I welcome the change and challenge and wish to enhance and support student experience and growth. I have chosen to become an Apple certified educator to support students and my school and need certain materials for students to do the work that will come with more knowledge.

As International Baccalaureate school, each and every student in my class will be presenting materials, projects, presentations to myself and their classmates often throughout the school year and beyond.

This laptop will allow them to share their findings and discoveries from anywhere in the room using apple education tools.

This laptop will be used to support students and in becoming apple educator certified will allow students to learn more on devices such as Apple computers and iPads and the essential programs they offer.

Students will build a strong foundation for using iPad, Mac, and Apple apps like Pages, Keynote, Numbers, GarageBand, and iMovie in the classroom.

Having a laptop that can be used in class and through remote learning times will allow flexibility and ease of learning during this year and beyond.
