Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am fortunate to work with a group of very intelligent, creative, and very friendly children. They are in fifth grade in the bilingual classroom. Like everyone else, my students have had a difficult year, but that did not affect their interest in school.
Despite being in remote classes since last spring, their enthusiasm has not changed.
On the contrary, we like to see each other every day!
Recently, our district opened schools and a small group of children is attending school in person. At the moment, I am implementing the hybrid teaching method. I have two groups of students one group of students in person and the second group is in remote learning. Regardless of the teaching method, I am always happy to see their smiley faces.
My Project
My students will use these headphones daily during hybrid and remote learning. My students have been in remote almost all year. Only a small group of children are in person. However, they also need their headphones when working with their remote learning peers in small groups.
With these headphones, students will block the background noise at home and in the classroom.
I believe that children will be able to concentrate much better in class if they can cancel out the noises in their backgrounds.
Many times I can hear the adults' conversations, televisions, and radios on. I understand that my students live in small places, and it is difficult for them to move to a quieter area. Therefore, I would love for them to get a new set of headphones. They will also use them next year, and I will have additional headphones for my students coming into fifth grade next fall.
