My school and the students are awesome! Our school is performing at the highest performance rating available in our large urban district.
"We believe in the education of the whole child." We are a neighborhood school, with a large Hispanic population, in a community in the process of increasing our ethnic and economic diversity.
Our school also serves a population in which 90% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Students are driven, energetic, well-mannered, and have great, humorous personalities. My students, parents, and school's administration value the creative and performing arts and strive to offer as many fine arts and performing arts classes as we can afford.
My Project
After a year remote learning I am looking to create a sense of excitement and a wow factor for my students. I know that an art show featuring a section that is lighted with black lights and contains artwork painted with neon colors will be all the "rave" among my students.
My students love bright colors.
They will learn about color and contrast first hand and this very child friendly and parent pleasing experience of a new art show feature will be amazing for my young art students and their parents. Help me bring some light to a year in which things were left dark all too often.
