Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am writing this proposal for my high school students who participate in our music program. Our high school serves a large, urban area and has a high percentage of students from low-income homes. Our student body is culturally diverse and provides our school community an opportunity to experience music and customs from many cultures as we interact every day. Creating and encouraging music learning opportunities for our diverse student population promotes inclusion and diversity in our educational programs.
Many of my students do not have the opportunity to explore and experience high-quality music instruction outside of the school setting.
It is exciting to see my students grow in their knowledge and excitement of music. Many of our students will continue their participation in the music program for three or four years during high school.
My Project
We are requesting a SELPHY Square QX10 Wireless Photo Printer and photo paper to help encourage student interaction and participation in our classroom. My students love to see themselves rehearsing and interacting with other students. We are planning to make a collage of students interacting with each other in class. These moments captured in photos will help my students get to know each other and break down barriers that exist between them. This has been such an interesting year with students now transitioning to a hybrid learning schedule after participating in distance learning for over a year. When they see that they can learn and work together effectively, they will reach for even higher levels of success in our music class.
