My Students
I teach seventh-grade students in a high needs, inner-city setting. Our school is extremely diverse, with nearly fifty percent living below the poverty line and seventy percent receiving free or reduced-price lunch services. In my class, I have students that are either living below the poverty line or teeter slightly above it.
My students are incredibly curious, innovative, and creative.
They learn best when they are exposed to hands-on experiential learning and when they can apply the knowledge they've learned in class to a real-life situation.
My Project
It goes without saying that the 2020-2021 school year has been tough for all students AND teachers. With a year that started remote, and ended hybrid for SOME students, it has definitely been a year like no other. Building classroom community has been tough, but we've managed to build a strong family unit.
I would like to celebrate our classroom community by purchasing commemorative t-shirts for students to wear on the last day of school.
Not only will it have every students name on it, but also give them a memory that will last, since we will not be utilizing a yearbook this year.
