This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The little engineers in my classroom are very excited and exercise their curiosity to the fullest extent. My students are from a high poverty neighborhood in Chicago. Even though it is really hard to live in their community with the high level of violence, they strive hard to be successful and practice being critical thinkers daily.
Our school's main focus is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), so my ultimate goal is to ensure that my students receive an enriched education that leads them to be the best independent learners possible.
They have shown that they love working on hands-on projects, especially in science and math this year.
My Project
My class is in critical need of a laptop to assist them in their class research projects. Recently my classroom have been studying many STEM lessons on the how the weather affects our world. They becomes very curious and want to seek further knowledge, but unfortunately we do not have the technology tools that we need. The goal of this project is to help my student gain all of the knowledge possible on different weather patterns. I know our books are important, but what will make these science lesson come to life through projected videos from a computer.
