There are 64 children in my fourth-grade class who are energetic, enthusiastic, inquisitive, funny, caring, and happy. Our school is located in Chicago. Our students come from different social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. We are fortunate because our school embraces the diversity of our students, staff, and families. It makes us who we are, a safe place for learning. Our students love to participate in class. My students love to learn. My students have various learning styles and I want to make sure that I can reach all of my students. Giving children the opportunity to learn is my goal.
My Project
This year I have given all my white boards to my students to use at home while we were in remote learning. Not knowing what the next school year will look like I need to replace the white boards that were sent home with my students. I want to be able to have enough white boards for math class to check for understanding in a large group. The children will solve the equations and show their work on the white board. They hold up their board for me to see what they know during our whole group instruction. It is a great way to check for understanding in just a few minutes. The children also love using the white boards when they are solving equations in their math book. I know that I will probably not get many of my old white boards back so I just want to have new ones on hand for the next year.
