Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Around 800 students from preK-8th grade are in my classes. The majority of the students are Hispanic. They learn better through hands on projects with personal meaning. Family relationships and communal time are important to them. They get excited to share their school projects with family and friends. My students are learning a practical use for their education and building a sense of value.
My Project
They are really cool reusable Chinese Calligraphy writing practice sets.
Each set allow student to trace the Chinese Calligraphy using a traditional brush and water, and here is the cool part: when the water is applied to the paper, it looks like ink.
To reuse it, the student wait a few minutes for the water to dry, the painted calligraphy vanishes and the set is ready to use again. They is no waste, and no mess. Practicing this way is a less expensive and time consuming method. However, it allow students to practice the skills needed and to develop success once actual paper and ink are made available.
The ultimate goal is for students to create tangible products using ink and paper as a way to showcase they are masterly of written Chinese vocabulary.
