Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, with a hunger to learn, and excited for what they will discover on their own for the day. I ask them, "What do you want to learn?" because I want them to know their hunger will be satisfied. I like my students to know they are in charge of their learning and have the ability to do anything they set their mind to.
I teach in an urban, low socio-economic area.
All of my students receive free lunch. My students are humble and enthusiastic about learning. They don't have much sometimes at home, but they would give you anything they had to offer. They love school and they love the safe environment school provides for them.
Many of my students sign up for after school programs, in which they are selected by lottery. Despite language barriers, financial status, limited technology available at home and a highly populated school, my students still show a desire to learn and do their best.
My Project
I am requesting a printer/copier for clear, high quality copies of assignments that my students can easily read.
Now that over 50% of my students have returned to in person instruction it is more important than ever to give them some normalcy and allow them to learn away from technology.
In order to get away from the reliance on the Chromebook, I need a high quality printer to provide them work that is engaging and easy on the eyes. This printer will also allow me to provide my students at home with diagrams and print outs that will better engage them in the science lessons that they are missing out on in the classroom.
