My Students

This is a project for 2 classrooms! We have some of the most loving and all-around coolest kids in school. They are kindergarten through sixth-grade rock stars. We put the cool in school. The best thing about our students is all their different strengths. They keep us and each other on our toes at all times! These kids have faced more than their fair share of things and still come out smiling and laughing. They love dancing to Jack Hartman, blowing bubbles, and giving so many hugs. We have some big laughs, big personalities, and big hearts, and having accessible materials lets those things shine through!

My Project

Each year teachers have to replenish supplies. So in thinking about next year, I would like to design mats for each of my K-2 students to work on their goals and essential skills such as writing their full names, the date and knowing what weather is influencing their dress, so they can begin using their independent skills.

Using some of these Foam Tube Grips will help my students interact better in their world, every mallet in music or paintbrush in art will be more accessible.

I would also like to take some of the burden off parents to find specialized school materials like Egg Pen-Pencil Grips and Jovi Triwax Triangular crayons with a larger grip. I also included materials to modify any utensil into something that is easier for my students to use as their fine motor skills develop.
