Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I have a classroom of 30 amazing Third graders! Our school resides in a difficult neighborhood in Chicago where students deal with a broad range of daily hardships. They are interested in learning, excited for new experiences, and love having teachers that hand out hugs.
I strive to make learning fun to keep students interested and wanting to come to school every day.
When students are involved in their own learning, they become more invested in the process as a whole.
My Project
In the past year, many students have struggled greatly to complete class assignments due to not having internet access or having inconsistent access. At times, students have almost completed an assignment and their internet went out, erasing all of their hard work. Other students have complained about getting migraines after staring at a screen for hours on end.
I would like to be able to offer a paper assignment option to students.
This would allow students to complete assignments who might not be able to otherwise. A strong internet connection should not be the decider in which students are successful and which are not.
I believe having a classroom printer will allow me to make some paper copies of the week's assignments. This will ensure all students have the opportunities they need to be successful this year.
