Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a fourth-grade teacher who has the pleasure of teaching 60 amazing children every day. The students are awesome and eager to learn. I have a variety of learners who come from many different backgrounds. My fourth-grade classroom is made up of ethnically diverse, low-income families.
My classroom is all-inclusive and is comprised of English language learners, students with individualized education plans, and general education students.
It is imperative to form a partnership and encourage all students to learn and become lifelong learners.
My Project
I want to create opportunities for social development and bridge the racial differences, in my classroom and on -line. In order to have a curriculum that honors, respects, and acknowledges diversity. The first thing that needs to be done is to have a curriculum that works towards understanding different cultures. It is imperative that all students feel their beliefs and opinions are valued. One way to do this is to read a variety of books. Students will be successful both socially and academically, when they have all the resources they need to succeed. It can be difficult to learn remotely. I want my students to feel comfortable, and respected whether they are at home or in school. I believe books become a powerful tool when readers are completely hooked. I want my students to become lifelong learners.
