This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are Scholars. They are provided a safe space to take risks, be vulnerable, and develop a sense of childhood curiosity and wonder.
They are thirsty for knowledge, eager to please, and desperately want to be better at "school”.
We have worked so very hard to cultivate a strong culture of learning that I can honestly say that their drive for success is inspirational. They have endless energy and enormous hearts!
Our Scholars are innocent, kindred spirits who deserve so much more than what our society has given them. For many of our students, their future relies solely on their experiences in our school. Regardless of the unthinkable barriers that our scholars experience outside of our four walls, they know that our belief in them will never waver.
My Project
Remote learning has been HARD on our students & families. The time in front of the screen is draining. Navigating new technology has been frustrating. Figuring out how to complete classwork and finding the focus to actually do it takes dedication. Our Scholars are wading through uncharted waters but they are committed to making the most of the experience.
Please help me to acknowledge my Scholars' dedication and celebrate their hard work with these gift card rewards.
We will use these cards to celebrate student attendance, work completion, and class participation.
These gift cards will be given to Scholars who have preserved through challenges and continued to keep their focus on their goals. They have demonstrated grit & growth in their core content areas, and continue to strive to complete all of their classwork on time. To create a positive culture of learning, we must celebrate the positive choices of our Scholars, especially when it is hard!
