Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students work hard at trying to gain a deeper understanding of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies concepts. My students face many challenges coming from a low-income area, but, despite their various backgrounds, they are always ready and willing to work every day.
I work with a wonderful group of 4th-grade students.
They are a fun-loving bunch of students who make each day a new adventure! My students have wide-ranging abilities, reading levels, and English proficiency. They attend a large inner-city public school. Most of my students come from low-income families, and all of my students qualify for free lunch.
My Project
Students and teachers, feeling uneasy and not knowing what the school year will bring due to the Covid-19 pandemic, are hesitant to attend school physically. These dividers will help my students be safe and healthy in a classroom hybrid schedule situation. Students will be able to work in our classroom and feel safe with the dividers in place.
Having clear desk shields will enable my students to engage and collaborate with each other, while providing some protection and socially distancing as needed by our COVID-19 regulations.
By giving them a caring learning environment, all students are learning and growing, regardless of their individual situations. During these uncertain times in history, my students need the nurturing and love of learning and engaging with their classmates and teacher. My students are active and growing young learners with lots of hopes and dreams who have been irreversibly impacted with the pandemic. I'd like them to be the safest as possible as we transition back to our "new normal."
