Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students deserve the same opportunities as students in neighboring schools and districts! They have great potential! Many of my students have personal struggles and tragedies to deal with outside of the classroom. I like to call our school a gem in a neighborhood that desperately needs it.
My students live in a COVID hotspot.
Many of my students have witnessed devastation and loss at multiple levels. Yet, still, they show up! They take action and show up for class every day! I am amazed by their resilience and their determination! THIS is why I continue to advocate on their behalf.
My Project
This iPad will provide me the means to deliver immediate math support in a complete 100% mobile setting - whether students are learning from home or in school!
An iPad will allow me to deliver more enriching, on-demand math instruction and support in a mobile manner to my students.
Currently, I must be stationed at the front when delivering instruction. This iPad will allow me to circulate and teach at the SAME time. Being mobile to check-in with all my students is very important.
During virtual learning, the iPad can be used as an on-demand whiteboard/graph pad and the screen can be shared for students to see. During in-person learning, I can circulate the classroom and provide support without the use of paper and pencil. I can provide support to students up close and I can share my screen to the projector for the whole class to see --- all while circulating the room and checking for understanding.
