I work in a Title I school district, which means that the majority of my students come from poor economic backgrounds. I believe school should be their escape. It should be fun and a place where they learn that anything is possible.
It is my goal to expose my students to the generosity of the world.
I have had smaller projects funded through this site. My students were in awe knowing that complete strangers cared about them and their success. My hope is that they will pay your generosity forward in the future.
My Project
Being a child in today's world is hard! Do you remember when the biggest thing you had to worry about as a child was what you planned on wearing to school? Boy have things changed. Kids nowadays have to worry about rigorous classroom standards, where their next meal is coming from, and the traumatic baggage that many of them carry to school. That is why I want to create a balanced classroom for all.
I am asking for a many meditative type classroom tool to help students find inner balance.
What would be more fun than meditating prior to a big test? What a great way to balance our mental selves while learning! I am also asking for a set of crayons for the students so they can document their Zen/balanced classroom. We all need a little inner balance!
