In our 3rd grade class, we have a group of inventors, thinkers, creators, problem solvers, and all-around brilliant scholars. Each one has persisted and is walking into their 3rd-grade year through completely uncharted territories. We will face this challenge together.
We have been learning remotely, connected through Zoom and online platforms.
While we have been able to send home many materials to support scholars we are approaching a new topic in math and our current bank of supplies is running low. We would love to purchase and send home fraction manipulatives to support scholars' hands on learning.
My Project
In order to support hands on, inquiry based learning we want to provide our scholars with fraction manipulatives. These tools will enable scholars to not only engage with our new topic but also explore fractions on their own, create games and investigate the world of fractions.
To help build a concrete understanding of the concept scholars normally explore fractions in groups and share the fraction manipulatives we have in the classroom.
However due to covid and learning remotely, we do not have enough sets for each scholar. We would love to be able to purchase more manipulatives to ensure each scholar has the proper tools to fully engage with our fraction fun.
