Help me give my students My Big World with Clifford, a portable CD player, Let's Find Out: Rebus Readers, and other read alongs for early literacy development.
My young students arrive every morning anxious to learn something new. They come from all walks of life, and most are considered academically at-risk. No matter what their home lives are like, our students walk into our school knowing they are safe, treated with respect, and given every opportunity to learn and grow. My students soon realize we are a family who support, encourage and care deeply about each other, something particularly important in our current pandemic. We are a preschool, in an urban public school system where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My Project
My young students love books and listening to stories! The portable CD player and Listen & Rhyme with Dr. Seuss and Sing Along/Read Along Classics will allow my learners the ability to choose their book and settle in to follow along during work time. The digital and print My Big World with Clifford will allow us to share the experience of Clifford's adventures whether we be in seats or virtual. The Let's Find Out: Rebus Readers will teach and reinforce basic skills along with encouraging language skills.
My young, emergent readers will blossom and develop new skills!
The materials in this project will strengthen and expand the literacy area in my classroom which will benefit my students for years to come!
