Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an active group of English Language learners that are always thirsty for knowledge. More than half of these students come from low-income housing and are not given a lot of educational support outside of the classroom. They are 21st century learners that love anything digital. Unfortunately, some of them are unable to interact with technology outside of the classroom.
My goal as an educator is to encourage and foster my students love for learning.
I want to make sure my students feel welcomed in our classroom and that their individual needs are met every day. Having a classroom environment that allows them to work freely will help them not only academically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
My Project
This is my first year working with our English Language Learning students and I want to make sure they have everything necessary to succeed. At the moment, we are limited on iPads. Having one extra iPad will allow me to work with an additional student on our ELL program. This program focuses on the 4 domains ELL students are tested on each year and will help strengthen their abilities.
Their success is my success.
In order for them to be successful, they need to be engaged. The English Language centers kit will help students focus on these domains using a hands-on approach. It also focuses on the 4 domains and will help students strengthen their knowledge of the English language.
