My diverse pre-kindergarten students are curious, creative, adventurous, boisturious, and motivated to learn! They are eager to immerse in new learning experiences and opportunities to explore the world around them. They use our dramatic play areas and materials, sensory and art materials, and learning toys to expand their world of knowledge.
I strive to create an engaging, creative, safe, and fun classroom that promotes learning as well as cognitive, social, and emotional development.
My Project
This year has caused changes in my classroom. Some materials were stored away that were difficult to clean daily. Few high interest items cause difficulties as well. The addition of bright, durable, easily cleaned materials including the star builders and waffle builders, will allow my young students to take them to the table and engage in play either individually or with a friend. The fairyland playset will be of particular interest to my girls. The simple puzzles will allow my students who struggle to complete a more difficult puzzle to feel a sense of accomplishment and build their skills to enable them to try something more complex. Alphabet theme book library and art supplies of colorful, multi-shaped macaroni and dot art painters will promote learning and encourage creativity.
These materials will encourage critical thinking and math and science skills such as counting, color recognition, patterning, engineering a structure and learning about gravity and balance.
Excited conversation will occur allowing vocabulary and speech to grow!
