My Students

My young students arrive every morning anxious to learn something new. They come from all walks of life, and most are considered academically at-risk. No matter what their home lives are like, our students walk into our school knowing they are safe, treated with respect, and given every opportunity to learn and grow. My students soon realize we are a family who support, encourage and care deeply about each other, something particularly important in our current pandemic. We are a preschool, in an urban public school system where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

The Read Along Listening Center will become a fast favorite among my young students! They love listening to a story, and this center will allow them to hear a variety of storytellers. It will encourage story re-telling, reading comprehension, and working cooperatively. It can be completely wiped clean between my students without harming the center.

Pre-K students love a good story, and hands on exploration of the world around them.

The animal match game will encourage discussion and critical thinking while teaching about habitats. The Color Discovery Tubes allows my students to make predictions as they learn how new colors can be created. The durability of these items also allows for frequent cleaning which is essential this school year.

The addition of these items will enhance my classroom and stimulate and entertain my students as they hands-on learn.
