My Students

My young students arrive every morning anxious to learn something new. They come from all walks of life, and most are considered academically at-risk. No matter what their home lives are like, our students walk into our school knowing they are safe, treated with respect, and given every opportunity to learn and grow. My students soon realize we are a family who support, encourage and care deeply about each other, something particularly important in our current pandemic. We are a preschool, in an urban public school system where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

My young students have a natural curiosity for the world around them. The Magnet Discovery Board, Easy View Early Science Specimens, Touch & Feel Mystery Capsules, and Science Viewers will allow my Pre-K students to explore scientific principles, predict outcomes, make comparisons, build vocabulary, and learn through touch and sight. The added bonus is they are durable and easily cleaned after use.

Exposing them to, and allowing them to hands-on explore science gives young learners a solid foundation to build on STEM activities.

The addition of the wobble cushions will allow my most energetic students an outlet for movement while in group time, while still allowing them to participate and learn.

The addition of these materials will enhance my classroom immeasurably.
