Do you remember what it feels like to learn something new? This happens daily in my class! My students are learning so many new skills that are essential to their school career and life. I want to provide as many opportunities as possible for them to be successful.
I teach in an urban neighborhood school in Missouri.
My school is in a high poverty area where as 60% of the population qualifies for free or reduced price lunch.
My group of kindergartners are a fun and spunky bunch! They see every day as a new adventure. My students are thrilled and ready to learn.
My Project
These materials will allow my students to have meaningful experiences as they learn curriculum. My class will be able to follow a recipe, write a how to book, and measure ingredients to make individual mini pizzas with the toaster oven. The toaster oven will also help my students to make shrinky dinks of our handwriting, and melt beads to make sun catchers. The color ink will allow me to print many independent center activities for student engagement. My students will sharpen their language arts skills with the word construction game and the stylus pens (for use on a chrome book). Finally, the construction paper will allow my students to have creativity thru art. The class will get to complete several art activities and projects.
