Help me give my students magnetic sight words, magnetic letter tiles, alphabots, shrinky art paper and dry erase boards for help keep engagement at workstation time.
Do you remember what it feels like to learn something new? This happens daily in my class! My students are learning so many new skills that are essential to their school career and life. I want to provide as many opportunities as possible for them to be successful.
I teach in an urban neighborhood school in Missouri.
My school is in a high poverty area as 60% of the population qualifies for free or reduced price lunch.
My group of kindergartners are a fun and spunky bunch! They see every day as a new adventure. My students are thrilled and ready to learn.
My Project
These materials will allow my class and future classes to learn the kindergarten skills with the hands-on approach. The alpha bots will allow my students to practice letter recognition and letter sounds. The magnetic letter tiles will also help with letter learning. We are learning many sight words in kindergarten and the magnetic sight words will give my class the opportunity to practice these sight words. The dry erase boards will help with handwriting and daily review of skills. Each student will benefit from the white boards.
My students will be able to master these skills and then apply their learning to daily tasks.
