Our school is full of energetic, rambunctious kids that are ready to learn! Unfortunately, many of them come from homes that live under the poverty line. This affects their home life, their school life, and their exposure to things that are different from their "norm." As their teacher, I want to give them everything they need to be successful not only in school, but socially, emotionally, and in their futures. Giving my kids' activities that engage them and make them want to learn is such a great way to keep their attention.
My Kindergarteners learn best when they are working hands-on, and this means providing them with a variety of materials to do so.
As a STEAM school, we try to work in science, engineering, and the arts into our everyday learning and math is no exception. This is a great opportunity to explore the mathematical world using different materials and resources.
My Project
My Kindergarteners learn best when they have hands on materials to explore and work with. I am the type of teacher that believes that a Kindergartener should not be learning out of a textbook. I love to find new ways for them to explore mathematical concepts with fun and engaging resources.
These math resources from Lakeshore will be the perfect addition to our classroom to help us bring more fun and engagement into our math block!
They include a variety of different hands on centers, small group materials, and STEM based resources to allow my Kinders to interact in different ways.
