This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

DonorsChoose helped my High School Math class’ beverage bar become a full vibe, for ALL of our students. By using behavioral points, students can order hot and cold beverages to enjoy in class. The popularity of our bar has encouraged students to behave in all of their classes, to earn more points.

For Black History Month (and beyond) I am running a promotion that gives students 50% off all beverages by writing a creative social and cultural justice sign.

We are a Title I school and many of our students are voicing their feelings and opinions about how their culture is treated. It is important that they have a space to be heard. I plan to hang their signs around my room.

After our initial DonorsChoose setup, I have been funding the bar supplies from my pocket. In addition, I pay the monthly bill for our clean hot/cold water machine. It would be great to restock so that their passions are continually rewarded.
