My Project
We are trying to build our classroom library with enough books for each child to read and enjoy. We love to do book studies, there is so much information to learn from a book! From classics like James and the Giant Peach to Frindle, lessons to learn from these books are so enjoyable, the kids don't mind when it comes time to reading.
When we do a book study, this allows so many different opportunities. We can do them individually, as a group, partners, in small group, and it is an easy way to differentiate instruction.
Students in our area do not have access to a local library, and if they do, they must pay for a library card. The more accessible books are in the classroom, the more likely it is that they will pick it up and read.
