My Project
My students are an excited young group of fourth graders! I have 23 students in my homeroom, and I teach about 45 students total.
Students come to my classroom for about 7 hours a week for reading and writing instruction.
During this time, students receive whole-group instruction and small group interventions.
Covid-19 has impacted learning over the past two years in primarily negative ways.
Now, I get the chance to use my students’ amazing resiliency to catch up on skills that they may have missed out on during the last couple of years.
To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use a few basic classroom supplies, including composition notebooks, mauvalus tape, Wite-Out, a document sorter, Post It Tabs, Dry Erase Markers, I-Pad Case and Screen Protector, whiteboard cleaning spray, cardstock, an easel pad, paint markers, manila folders, dry erase dots, and Scotch tape.
I could also use some books to help enrich students learning with grammar amid the pandemic, including “Kites Sale High: A Book about Verbs,” “Many Luscious Lollipops: A Book about Adjectives,” “Behind the Mask: A Book about Prepositions,” “Mine, All Mine: A Book about Pronouns,” and “Up, Up, and Away: A Book About Adverbs.”
I could also use some candy to incentivize student learning amid the pandemic, including Nerd Gum Balls and Dum Dum Lollipops. Having candy to pass out for classroom participation will help bridge the gap between students that was created in part because of the pandemic.
All of these items will help students catch up on skills that they may have missed out on as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
