My Project

My students are working toward becoming Eco Warriors. We are studying the wetland habitat that our school is located in. We are planting native plants along with our vegetables to support our local ecosystem. We have worked with the community to help restore the wetlands and to learn about native plants and animals. Our next step is to focus on what we can do on a daily basis to help even more.

We will use our composter to break down leftover lunches instead of throwing the food waste away, and we will take better steps to recycle paper, plastic, and cans.

At our school, so much food is thrown in the trash. Almost nothing is recycled. We have started collecting the leftover fruits to bake and are using the milk to make an all-natural fungus spray for our gardens. The recycle station and composter will be a wonderful step forward in our journey to becoming Eco Warriors.
