Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are determined to succeed! Many of them come from low-income households where life struggles often outweigh the benefits of education. They are looking for a way to make life better for themselves and for their families, and they know that education is the way for that to happen.
My students are eager learners who know that hard work and dedication will help them be successful, no matter what life throws at them.
Since I can't give them the hands-on learning activities in my classroom, I hope to give them a unique learning experience through many online musical resources. I want to help guide them through that pathway to success!
My Project
My music classroom is a place for students to come and allow their creativity to really shine. We sing and dance and play a ton of different types of instruments to experience many different styles of music. However, since online learning has started, that way of learning has come to an abrupt halt. The past few lessons that I've posted has simply been watching a few videos and answering a few questions to learn new musical information. I want to do more in my lessons, but since I'm using my school computer, I cannot download any of the music-based technology resources. I cannot explain them to my students or have them explore this new path of creativity without being able to download them and use them myself. This new computer will allow me to do that to make my distance learning lessons more engaging for my students now, and will also be a great tool to incorporate into my classroom in the future.
