My Students

We teach a language and learning disabilities, self-contained class. Chronologically we are a sixth-grade class, their functioning level ranges from first to fourth. The majority of our students are bilingual whose parents speak only Spanish or Creole. This already made getting help with homework difficult.

Every day our children are trying their best to meet the needs of our new normal and it's hard.

When this all started we thought that we would only be apart for a few weeks and boy were we wrong.

My Project

This project is to provide my students with things they need to help with distance learning and items to have fun when they're finished. My students need the basics like pencils, notebooks and more to be able to keep taking notes and do assignments. At some parents request their students need these items because they just don’t have them right now. Also with my students isolated at home away from friends feeling overwhelmed with nothing to do and nowhere to go. My hope is the games will allow them some much needed down time with siblings.

My hope is these things will help with work production and lift their spirits as well.

Most have multiple siblings at home to which the games should come in handy to play with each other. With your help, I can't wait to drop these off in a contact-free, socially distant manner of course.
