Help me give my students explode the code reading intervention books, hot dot sets and pens for learning phonics skills, magic boards for writing letters and words, ink to create games, and a mini bookshelf to display books.
My school is a rural, Title I school in Tennessee where poverty is high and experiences are limited. These students are pushed every day to achieve high levels of academic excellence, and they work hard daily to achieve our rigorous expectations.
"Reading takes us to Infinity and Beyond," is a quote on my Toy Story themed door that students see every time they enter and exit.
I believe in my learners and want to help them become excellent readers and writers.
My Project
Please help me provide my students with engaging materials to make learning phonics fun. These materials will enable my students the ability to have multiple opportunities to learn skills that can sometimes seem boring. The ink will be used to create teacher made literacy games. The magic boards will be used to create letters and words using the sounds of the letters.
Hands-on learning in a multisensory method is always better than worksheets and workbook pages.
Therefore, it is my goal to purchase materials that equip kids with fun alternatives such as magic boards, games, and hot dot magic pens.
