My second graders are a fun-loving group of seven year olds! Majority of my students come from different economical backgrounds and have a variety of learning styles that they bring to my room. My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many hardships they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with imaginative and meaningful learning experiences. They want to be in school because they want to learn and become successful.
My students are full of life, enjoy hands-on activities, and are always eager to learn.
Every day my students come into my room full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what they will be learning. From the moment they enter my room, I focus on the potential growth in my students. I want to make the learning in my classroom very hands-on and interactive for all of my students. I feel that they are at their best when learning is hands-on and the information will stick with them. My goal for all of my students is to inspire them to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
My students need a comfy and relaxing reading place in my room to read all the great books and go on all the wonderful printed adventures. The rug will be a great addition to make them feel right at home and give them a place to select their books. Our reading area gets used often by all of my students throughout the day, so I think the comfort level in a frequently used area is very important. I believe if students are comfortable, they can be more into what they are reading and enjoy every page.
Being comfortable is the key to finding a love for reading.
The requested whiteboard will allow us to be able to talk about our standards and organize our thoughts together. The supplies I have added to this project will carry us throughout the entire school year. The Crayola markers are used daily and keep my kids excited about our activities. The gel pens give us a fun and engaging way to rewrite our final writing drafts. The supplies will make a huge difference in our room!
