My Students
My school is a rural, Title I school in Tennessee where poverty is high and experiences are limited. These students are pushed every day to achieve high levels of academic excellence, and they work hard daily to achieve our rigorous expectations.
"Reading takes us to Infinity and Beyond," is a quote on my Toy Story themed door that students see every time they enter and exit.
I believe in my learners and want to help them become excellent readers and writers.
My Project
Students will be using the Wilson Phonics Fundations letter boards and magnetic letters to create words. These students are a grade level behind on skill development for reading so it is my goal to create multisensory lessons to help children learn quickly.
These magnet letter sets from Wilson Phonics have proven to be sturdy and great quality as I have had some in my room for over 13 years.
However, I have more children using them now and need more.
I am also requesting materials such as tape, paper, and colored dry-erase markers that will be used to create games and activities for these students to use during intervention classes. Lastly, I am requesting a personal laminator and sleeves to protect the items I make for student use. Thank you for any consideration for my project!
