Help me give my students highlighters, alphabet beanbags, colored paper, erasers, ink, tape, and page protectors. I serve over 40 students at all grade levels so we go through a lot of materials!
My school is a rural, Title I school in Tennessee where poverty is high and experiences are limited. These students are pushed every day to achieve high levels of academic excellence, and they work hard daily to achieve our rigorous expectations.
"Reading takes us to Infinity and Beyond," is a quote on my Toy Story themed door that students see every time they enter and exit.
I believe in my learners and want to help them become excellent readers and writers.
My Project
The requested materials are things that are used on a daily basis in my reading intervention classroom. The dry erase circles will be applied directly to the tables so students will have a marked place to work while also serving as a dry erase board. The markers and erasers will be used daily to practice writing letters, words and sentences.
Kindergarten students will benefit from the alphabet beanbags to make learning letters active and engaging.
They will also get to play with cars marked with letters to spell words and find letters on the play tape roads.
The ink is constantly being used to make games and materials to create fun activities for struggling readers. Page protectors protect our materials to allow multiple classes the ability to use all materials without them constantly tearing.
