My Students

My twenty-eight students are fourth graders in a high poverty elementary school. They have a wide range of abilities, needs, and concerns.

Even though my students may deal with struggles at home, they come to school every day ready and willing to be part of our family and learn what they can.

They want to do their best and prove that they are capable of being successful. They strive to be "The Best They Can Be" each and every day!

My Project

Flexible Seating classrooms provide students with opportunities to be better focused, better organized and more engaged in their own learning. These comfy stools will allow my students to have more options when choosing their best learning space. They would be able to sit around the room in a comfortable spot, as well as remain focused on the task at hand.

Allowing students to choose their own learning space provides them with the opportunity to take responsibility for their own learning.

My fourth graders have done a vast amount of research on flexible seating and the benefits it provides to students and teachers. After much debate, 100% of them decided that having flexible seating in our classroom would be extremely beneficial to their learning.

Please provide my students with the opportunity to choose their learning space and become better engaged in their own learning.
