Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 3rd graders are amazing knowledge seekers and full of questions. They absolutely love engaging in learning with their classmates and participating with each other everyday! My students come from diverse cultural backgrounds, and many of them are English Language Learners or special needs students and come from low socio-economic households. Each and every one of them is unique with their own set of special strengths and abilities.

My students' motivation and eagerness to learn is their biggest and most significant strength!

They are inner-city kids that have bravely faced the unexpected challenges of this pandemic. During these uncertain times, they are still determined and dedicated to their work. They wake up every morning, happy and ready to learn and engage with their school family. They are a most amazing group of kids that will surely have the brightest of futures!

My Project

Social Emotional Learning has become a huge topic in the education field, especially over the last year. It is my pedagogical belief that SEL plays an integral part in a child's education and should be embedded in instruction and be part of a school's overall curriculum. With the TPT gift cards, I will be able to purchase teacher-created and teacher-tested SEL curriculums that invite students to partake in instruction that will help them acquire and effectively apply SEL skills that will help them grow and guide them in making daily life decisions.

SEL instruction is proven to promote and enhance students' connections to school, positive behavior and academic achievement.

I will be able to help my students develop social and emotional skills by using these curriculums which use engaging materials and provide specific instructional guidance for teachers. In turn, my students will be able to participate in meaningful SEL instruction and acquire many life skills that will help them understand & manage their emotions and feel and show empathy for others. In addition, they will learn how to set and accomplish positive goals, and create and maintain positive relationships. Lastly, they will learn how to make responsible decisions as little human beings and global citizens of this world!
