My Students

My third grade students are such resilient, eager, forgiving, and hardworking individuals. Despite all the challenges they are up against in these trying times of Covid-19, which began abruptly with multiple earthquakes in their neighborhood, they don't ever give up.

Their eagerness to learn and try new things has inspired me to become better at providing them with learning opportunities that I am unfamiliar with.

With an extremely wide range of socioeconomic statuses, many of my students who need the most help are left to fend for themselves while navigating the assignments I post for them on our Google Classroom. However; they continue to do their personal best and do the best that they can and I want to be able to do more for them.

My Project

We spend a lot of time in the 3rd grade writing, revising, and producing final documents based on a variety of subjects. I always have to print their work and return it to them in black and white and would love to return it to them in color.

My students are always disappointed that their hard work and effort to produce a document or digital illustration in living color is returned to them in black and white.

Much of their hard work is lost in translation when it loses it's color.

As the year progresses, it seems as though they loose interest in making the vivid and enchanting projects they began with. I would love to be able to let them hold the reality of their imaginations.
