Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a 3rd-grade teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is 70% ELL and 100% free lunch/breakfast for all students.

I will have an incredible group of 28 students in the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

Every day my students will walk into the classroom eager to learn and ready to face any challenge that's put in front of them. Students spend long hours at school every day and, yet, every single day they're excited to be here and ready to take on whatever is put in front of them. It truly amazes me how determined and dedicated these young minds of theirs are.

There is no better feeling as a teacher than when you do not have worry about providing your student with certain supplies. Being that my students come from low-income households many of them are not able to provide themselves with supplies needed to help them stay successful in school. I have added items such as birthday goodies to help make each student feel special on their day. I have also added lots of treasure box items that will be used as incentives to help keep the students motivated. The rest of the books and supplies will be used throughout the classroom to help ensure that we have a successful school year.
