My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to our classroom each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration! They are enthusiastic about diving into learning, but do not have the necessary tools.

My students come from low income homes and don't have the funds to purchase necessary schools supplies for the school year.

If we could buy them school supplies and new chapter books they would be beyond excited. We also know the importance of healthy snacks and would like to buy snacks for the class. We start at 8:10am and our lunch is at 12:35, which is very long.

As a teacher, even in the presence of the issues that manifest because of their needs, this raw curiosity is the most critical and beautiful element of their education. Their desire to question and probe into everything is what drives their learning process. That is what makes it exciting to teach them!

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy-I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. The school supplies will help them be prepared for the day. The snacks will keep them energized for the morning.
